Solar Eclipse 2024 Map
This map shows the path of totality for the 2024 eclipse. Due to the moon’s close proximity to the earth, the width of the path is roughly 115 miles wide. To view this map in larger and other formats, view it at the source: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5123/ The previous eclipse in 2017 had a path roughly 62 to 70 miles wide because the moon was further away from the earth.
An Even Clearer Pic
This pic is taken with a longer zoom lens so it appears clearer and with more resolution. The last post was from a cell phone with digital zoom to 4x.
Clear Blue Skies
After the last few days of rain and snow, it’s nice to see the sun again.
A Nearly Full Moon
The moon appears at 92% full in this picture taken 5 minutes after midnight on March 28, 2024. It’s another lovely evening in Chicago. This view is to the southeast.
