A Brilliant Total Solar Eclipse
The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse was incredible and mesmerizing to see. Viewed from Indianapolis, I took this picture during totality, which lasted 3 minutes and 46 seconds. The temperature dropped a few degrees about 25 minutes before totality. Despite the sky being bright and sunny, the intensity of the sun dimmed noticeably a half hour before the total eclipse. During totality, the entire area and sky looked how it would appear a few minutes after sunset. It was dark but certainly not pitch black. The moment totality ended the city instantly became fully illuminated and you could no longer look at the sun without the protective glasses. Watch an exciting 3 minute video I made and see for yourself what it was like to experience the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plxtszzc8xc
Rainbow In Indianapolis
A small rainbow above the Indiana State Capitol building in Indianapolis. Light rain moved through downtown this afternoon. Tomorrow is the eclipse of the sun with nearly 4 minutes of totality over Indianapolis!
Upcoming Eclipse Cloud Cover Forecast
Southern Illinois and Indiana will have high thin clouds during Monday’s solar eclipse. This will still permit good views of totality. Exciting!!
